PADI Rescue Diver Course in Tioman
Upon registration you will receive the dive manual and dive planner for self study prior to the next lesson. It will take approximately 6 to 8 hours over one week for the self study. You will have to complete all the knowledge reviews in the dive manual prior to the lesson, where you’ll hand it to your PADI Instructor thereafter. During the session, the instructor will go through the completed knowledge reviews and evaluate any mistakes or areas where divers are uncertain or weak at. Upon complete understanding of the uncertainties, students are required to sit through a final exam to ensure 100% mastery and how and when to apply the knowledge learnt.
The Skills Development Session will take place at the ScubaDo House Reef. During the session, fundamental skills of self rescue and rescue of other divers will be taught. This is the most important and exciting part of the course. After all the knowledge and skills development and students showing competency in them, the open water training serves as an evaluation that student divers are able to demonstrate mastery in the 12 required rescue exercises. These skills are further combined and executed to represent two open water simulated real life rescue scenarios.
The Knowledge Development Sessions will be a combination of self and prescriptive learning. These will be held over two sessions with the first session involving an introduction to the course, giving you your course materials and viewing the PADI Rescue diver DVD. The second will be a review of the Knowledge Review Sessions with your instructor and the completing of the Rescue Diver exam. The timings will be confirmed between your PADI Instructor.
The Skills Development Sessions will be held at the ScubaDo House Reef. The Skills Development session is to introduce you to the required 12 rescue exercises prior to the open water evaluation. The final part is the open water evaluation. This will be held at a safe and suitable open water training site. The options available will be discussed with the PADI Instructor upon the commencement of the course.
